Capital Markets and Space

Capital Markets are markets where capital, from sources such as stocks and bonds, is traded. Capital markets are used by companies to raise additional funds.

It is generally perceived that any space exploration related commercial project, including the exploitation of space resources, is associated with high risk, high initial investments and long payback periods, as compared to other investment opportunities. This perception increases the difficulties of raising funds in capital markets.
