Energy & Power and Space

Power is the amount of energy put out or produced in a given amount of time. It is also the energy or motive force by which a physical system or machine is operated, being commonly used for electrical or mechanical energy, especially as used to assist or replace human energy. Energy is the capacity of a system to do work. It is also a source of usable power.

New technologies related with power generation and transmission can be applied initially on Earth and be exported enabling space exploration. Off-Earth energy production, like solar cell manufacturing from lunar resources, can improve and/or enable future space exploration scenarios. At the same time, space solar power satellites can help to mitigate future on Earth energy supply and emission problems when combined with wireless power transmission.
