Infrastructure and Space

Infrastructure is the system of basic facilities, goods and services needed for the functioning of a community or society. Examples of infrastructural elements include transportation systems, communications systems, water supplies, power sources, professional services (e.g., legal counsel, entertainment, banking systems, etc.) and public institutions including courts, governing councils, administrative agencies, schools, post offices, and prisons.

Histroically, governments been the primary providers of space infrastructure (e.g., launch systems, tracking systems, human-rated space vehicles, etc.) The emergence of investments of talent and money into private infrastructure development is likely to lead to lower costs and broader use within society as a whole.
